Dr. Tuckman received a BSE in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his Radiology Residency training at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont, and then completed a Cross Sectional Imaging Fellowship at Tufts New England Medical Center.

After practicing as a general radiologist for four years, he began to subspecialize in Musculoskeletal MRI in Minneapolis. Since 1991 Dr. Tuckman’s practice has consisted almost exclusively of MRI, mostly musculoskeletal with special interest in sports injuries. He has interpreted over 100,000 MRI examinations performed on a wide variety of machines. He has published articles on the imaging features of meniscus injuries of the knee, biceps tendon injuries of the shoulder, and axillary nerve injuries after shoulder dislocation. He has interpreted MRI examinations for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Vikings, Purdue University varsity athletes, University of Louisville varsity athletes, and Churchill Downs racetrack.

He has adjunct professor appointments at the Indiana University School of Medicine and the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine.
